About The Business...
I have always liked raising pigeons ever since I was a kid. I can remember taking some baby ones to school when I was in the sixth grade to show all the classmates and explain everything I knew about them. I thought I knew all there was to know until I got into the dove release business and realized that I did not know anything.
The pigeons that I had were feral birds and I would climb on top of peoples houses at night to catch them. My neighbors hated me.
I have had fantails, rollers, and homing pigeons. I finally decided that I wanted to raise the white homing pigeons to make a little money and at the same time provide a service that would provide a lot of people some wonderful memories that would last a life time. This is a very respectable business and not just anyone can do it. If you don`t have a love for the birds, then you are in the wrong business.
I started out with twelve birds that I bought in Mississippi. This was a four hour drive one way. About half way home, my wife started to hate me now because we are in her car and the birds are in the back seat.
I now have about 100 birds and this is only because of controlled breading. I have a few Indian Fantails and white ring neck doves that I raise for display purposes only.
This is a wonderful business for anyone who loves the doves.
